Video transcript: So when we first met, I was in the early stages of growing my business and although I described myself as organized, things were starting to run away from me and I was realizing that I wasn't staying on top of all of the tasks that I needed to get done, including my marketing and my sales. I think once I realized and looked to the future, I accepted that I actually had to start creating the system. Now, even though I was still a small business, I realized that my intentions to grow and to scale and to bring people on board were going to become increasingly difficult the longer that I left it. My favorite part was that you had these really short bite size learning videos with practical exercises that we could implement immediately. And so as I was working through those, I began to see the benefits and potential that continuing with the program was going to have for me. I also really enjoyed meeting other people in the weekly office hours. My biggest insight was that so many of us entrepreneurs are the same and we're not great at putting systems in place and that it really is important to rely on the professionals to help you push you to do it properly the first time in terms of referrals and customer attention. The fact that everything is now systemized means that I'm staying on top of delivery. It means that my customers are much more satisfied and they're getting a consistent service from me. So I think when we first met, I was working with literally a handful of people in one to one coaching. And at this stage I am already three times the number in my opinion. I can't think of an organization that would and benefit from a one man band solo entrepreneur looking to grow their business. As somebody who already has a team in place, I think that putting these systems in place early on is essential to success. What I'm really looking forward to is when I start hiring a team and the fact that I know that I have everything in place and it's going to make onboarding my new team members much more slick, effective and efficient. So once I have a team, I'm really looking to be able to take on many more clients because I have people to able to help me with marketing, help me with sales, and I can really just focus on delivering an excellent service for my clients and less so on working inside of my business, or less so working on my business more in my business. I think one of my favorite parts is the human side, the connection with other people, the fact that everybody has a bit of a sense of humour about themselves and not taking themselves too seriously, but at the same time taking their businesses. Seriously. That's what I really enjoy. I think the main thing for me is don't wait. Just get on with it now. You're just going to make the pain harder. Unless you start systemizing as soon as you can, there is no point waiting. You're just going to make your life a lot harder. The longer you're working in your business, the more systems you need to implement. So the time is to get going now.

Up to this point, we didn't have a system to keep us on track, to record our tasks, to be able to see what we've completed, to be able to make data sheets and templates, to even just be able to consolidate information on a page and be able to give people that URL to go to to see that information. We learned so much in this course, my partner and I, and it really has streamlined our business. Video transcript: My name is Kayla Vine. I am the operator for tour properties of real estate brokerage here in Nashville. One of our biggest needs was a place to document all of our systems. So prior to the course, we had so many different spreadsheets all over the place prior to implementing this system, and now it's all linked into six databases. And then we are able to have different views of those databases to keep everything clean and not duplicative in several different spreadsheets. We're a pretty small company, and as the operator, it was really nice to have guidance and support to implement these systems and a group to ask these questions to when they came up. Cause normally it's just me on my own and having to be resourceful and figuring them out. I liked the beginning, the big questions before getting into the nitty gritty of the systems. Like think about the customer journey, how we want customers to feel in every step of the journey, because as much as we want to document things and make them very efficient, and I loved how much you emphasized hospitality that came from your personal experience that you really brought into the course. And that's something that's really sat with me and I want to continue to bring more into our business. The accelerator is the structured course to implement systems through every aspect of your business, along with a support group to help you implement that so you're not on your own and hold you accountable to that. To start with, revenue. I think doing the million dollar math and figuring out our pipeline metrics and for the first time gave us data to our sales goals. I loved that part, and it gave me so much more confidence that I wasn't flying blind and trying to just hit this lofty sales goal without knowing the metrics along the way. As far as retention, we mapped out our customer journey within our systems and have them each as an action, so there's no possible way to miss a step. I have huge conviction that we'll have much more increased retention as a result of just increased customer experience. And then the last one, referrals. I think referrals are a natural byproduct of that customer. Increased customer experience that I mentioned before, but also more tactically. Just adding a step at the end of each customer experience to write a review or prompt in some way. If you have anyone that we could help, please let them know. I think just adding that extra step as part of our process will help us to also increase referrals.

This is now the place that I go for whenever I do a customer research interview. I have this Notion tool, open it up and type my notes in while I am having this meeting with my customer. Before this was built for me by CPD Advisors I used to have a separate notebook where I would handwrite these notes and take them with while I'm on the call and then I have to later spend time to transcribe that into a separate spreadsheet. Video transcript: Chaos impacted my ability to scale my company because of a lack of clarity and a sense of overwhelm. And now that my problem is solved of not having a narrow mind set on this, you know, idea of getting a job, my view has expanded in so many ways, and I learned about so many different things while working here. I learned about how to manage my time better, how to speak better, how to ten x my life, basically. And I just feel like this internship has been really valuable to me as a person and will continue to deliver that value, literally, for the foreseeable future. That's pretty much my experience and my take on this job. And I'm just really happy I had this opportunity. And I'll just keep my head up, seeing what other opportunities are in my path, and I hope we'll see what happens then.

But after asking a lot of interns and maybe Ernesto himself, it gave me a sense of direction as to what I wanted to do. At first, I wanted to do business operations, and he assigned me to a project for the million dollar machine onboarding checklist, where I pretty much assigned different tasks and allowed people to get onboarded on a relatively faster way. But after learning this, it made me realize that business operations might actually be my way to go because I actually enjoyed it. And being able to mass manage people made me realize that that mean that might be something that I can do, that might be the special skill that I can utilize for myself. Especially after reading the book ten X is easier than two X by Dan Sullivan that he assigned to us. I was able to learn a lot about how to. How to, like, further myself, where instead of looking for yourself and in the near future, you have to look at yourself in the far future. And it makes you realize that the baby steps are the way to go instead of just leaping forward. Because if you leap forward, you're going to miss a lot of things in the middle. And pretty much that's how it is for the future. And I think going to the internship was definitely worth it because I learned a lot of important things, such as the importance of fostering relationships, especially with the interns, keeping in touch with a lot of people, especially some of the clients that Ernesto has. I did get a contact for one of them, which is important, and pretty much just Ernesto himself. He's going to provide for me other opportunities and I really hope then the future that we could probably collaborate again together. And it's pretty exciting. And now that. Now that I finished this internship, where I'm almost done with it, I. My life pretty much has order for the most part. I'm relatively organized, I have time management skills, and I pretty much. I have a gist of what I want to do now. So, yeah,

Video transcript: So one problem that MDM and Ernesto really helped me with in my business is going from thinking about many different offers, sometimes very scattered in what they actually gave to my customers and clients, and focusing on one thing and then working backwards to find out what are the steps I need to take to achieve the revenue that I want. Confident that if I sign clients up, if someone calls or wants to hire me after a speaking engagement, I know that it's a pretty straightforward, they're going to get the lessons of my course every day over then the next six weeks and it's just a matter of like they're going to do the onboarding. I don't have to worry about how am I going to deliver now for this one client or 15 clients? And so that's super powerful and rewarding. If you just looked at the topic like on people what the working together would look like, you might incorrectly believe this is going to be kind of boring and dull and painful. And the thing to know is that actually this is going to be a hell of a lot of fun. That actually building the systems is a kind of a fun back and forth. There'll be a lot of high energy ping pong with Ernesto if you hire him to build and you have a build phase where you're basically bouncing back and forth, knocking out tasks, seeing this like the scaffolding get built and the building of this new operation systems getting built for you. And so that would be what I would say there and just say I would encourage you to trust Ernesto where he is best in class and really has a gift in this work. But it is also helpful to understand some of the basics, some of Ernesto's training is really helpful to have done to know why you're doing what you're doing, why things are getting built in a certain way. And it's that it is that combination that's the killer of knowing why you do it, but then having the master himself do the building.

My company, bookthinkers, had all of these different operational systems on Excel spreadsheets, kind of all over the place. And the main goal for this first engagement with MDM was to centralize all of my operations in one place. And while we did that, we also installed standard operating procedures and checklists for each project and engagement that my company sold, which was really nice.
